New security kiosk and supervisor facility - Vanterm – Public comments invited 

April 11, 2023 – As part of its Project and Environmental Review process, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority must determine whether the proposed New security kiosk and supervisor facility - Vanterm, loacted at 1300 Stewart Street, Vancouver, B.C., are likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Written comments to be received by May 10, 2023

To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed project, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.  For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website. In addition, your contact information may be shared with third parties, e.g., the tenant, other relevant agencies, to help respond to your questions and inform possible mitigations.

The proposed project

GCT Canada Ltd Partnership (GCT) are proposing to install a second floor, approximately 40 square metres, on top of an existing modular building, to accommodate an increase in staff, at their site. The building would be built off site and would include a washroom facility. A sanitary line, approximately 61 metres long and 1.8 metres deep and a water supply line, approximately 33 metres in length and 1.2 metres deep, would be installed to service the building. GCT are also proposing to install a new security gate kiosk, approximately 4.3 square metres. This would require the installation of a new electrical line, approximately 46 metres in length and 1.5 metres deep.
