Witset Youth Healing Lodge Project  – Public Comments Invited

April 4th, 2023Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) must determine whether the proposed Witset Youth Healing Lodge, located in Witset, BC is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

Witset First Nation will construct a youth healing lodge to provide a safe and accessible healing space for Wet'suwet'en and other Indigenous youth from Northern BC. The healing lodge, located in Witset, will be a new 2-storey wood framed building with a gross floor area of 4,204.8 square feet.
