Cross Lake Band of Indians Women's Centre – Public Comments Invited

March 9, 2023, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Women's Centre Project in Cross Lake is likely to cause significant adverse effects. To help inform this determination, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

Cross Lake Band of Indians is proposing to build a Women's Centre. The emergency shelter project consists of a single storey building with 6 total units. The total project building area is approximately 600 sq m and construction will include the building and parking areas.  Project activities include clearing and grubbing, the installation of access driveway/parking, construction of foundations, backfill and grading, utilities and services including sewer and water piping as well as power and communication lines.
