St. Mary's First Nation – Court A Development – Public Comments Invited

November 25, 2022 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed St. Mary's First Nation – Court A Development, located in Saint Mary's First Nation, NB is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

The project consists of two jobsites adjacent to Nash Avenue and are located approximately 230m from one another. Sanitary and storm sewer, water and roadway services will be installed to facilitate the construction of 5 tiny homes, 2 rowhouses (consisting of 5 units each), 7 detached homes, and a traditional learning center for school children. The total project footprint is 21 250m2.

Activities include the development of 315m of water main, 158m of sanitary sewer main and 163m of storm sewer main. These will be permanently  installed and connected into existing infrastructure. Other activities include clearing and grubbing of project sites and rock excavation.
