Installation of three oil wells and associated pipelines– Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Suffield

September 16, 2021 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

International Petroleum Corp. IPC Canada Ltd is proposing to drill 3 oil wells and install associated pipelines and utilities within the Oil Access Area on Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Suffield, approximately 75 km from Medicine Hat, Alberta (16AB-8-20-7 and 1D-28-19-8). The sites will be built to support a drilling rig and rolled back upon completion. The Right-of-Ways (ROWROW will be fully reclaimed and surrendered upon exhaustion of the productive life of the associated wells.
