Tway National Wildlife Area – 09 September 2021 – Environment and Climate Change Canada's Canadian Wildlife Service has determined that the proposed Tway National Wildlife Area Water Control Structure Re-naturalization Project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  • input provided by provincial and federal regulatory bodies; and
  • technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.

Mitigation measures will be implemented on site to reduce impacts to fish and fish habitat, wildlife and wildlife habitat, migratory birds, and species at risk.

Environment and Climate Change Canada's Canadian Wildlife Service is satisfied that that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Therefore, Environment and Climate Change Canada's Canadian Wildlife Service may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
