The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which involves work execution, labor, materials and tools necessary for the CFB Bagotville operational area redevelopment. The work involves, but is not limited to, twelve existing buildings, deconstruction, and the construction of six new buildings. New buildings will serve, among other things, for hazardous materials storage (approximate area of 625 m2 ), repair and maintenance workshops (approximate area of 20,000 m2) and aircrafts hangars (approximate area of 15,000 m2). The work will require secondary infrastructure development (parking lots, unloading areas, access roads, aircraft traffic lanes, rainwater retention basin, etc.) and public utility services (telecom, pipeline, etc.). During deconstruction work, some demolition residues will be disposed as hazardous materials. New buildings construction and infrastructure development will imply excavation work. All excavated soil management will respect the project and sites environmental studies recommendations. With the exception of demolition residues and excess soil, all work will be carried out on the CFB Bagotville territory (Quebec).
