Richmond, B.C. – 28 June 2021 – Vancouver Airport Authority has determined that Vancouver Airport Fuel Facility Corporation's Fuel Truck Offloading Facility Upgrades Project located at 5980 Ferguson Road, Richmond BC, is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

 

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination include:

  • All activities will be conducted in compliance with:
    • Storage Tank Systems for Petroleum Products and Allied Petroleum Products Regulations, Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 2008.
    • CCME Environmental Code of Practice for Aboveground and Underground Storage Tank Systems Containing Petroleum and Allied Petroleum Products.
    • CSA Standard B-836, Storage, Handling, and Dispensing of Aviation Fuels at Aerodromes, Canadian Standards Association.
    • Vancouver Airport Authority Environmental Construction Standards
  • The facilities spill response plan and procedures will be updated to include the new unloading facility.

 

The Vancouver Airport Authority is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Therefore, the Vancouver Airport Authority may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
