Repair of the Gauron-Lafleur bridges at the Lachine Canal – PUBLIC COMMENTS INVITED

April 21st 2021 – Transport Canada must determine whether the proposed repair on the Gauron and Lafleur bridges at the Lachine Canal located in Montréal is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Transport Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public [and may be posted online]. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Repair work is required on the Gauron Bridge and the Lafleur Bridge located in the Lachine Canal in order to restore the structure to its full capacity and ensure the durability of the structures as well as the safety of users. Some works that will take place are the replacement of the deck joints, the installation of an asphalt coating, the cleaning of certain elements.
