Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination

2021-04-16 - Infrastructure Canada must determine whether the proposed Alderville First Nation - Communal and POE Water Treatment Systems Project, located in the Alderville First Nation Reserve, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Infrastructure Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public [and may be posted online]. The Proposed Project:

The Alderville First Nation (the Proponent) is proposing to decommission, construct and upgrade water-related infrastructure.

New construction includes:

  • A production well;
  • A high capacity water treatment plant;
  • ~750 metres of conveyance piping;
  • 18 service connections to public buildings;
  • 10 point-of-entry systems;
  • An underground reservoir for water storage; and
  • A high lift pumping station.

Upgrades include:

  • Works on 32 existing point-of-entry systems

Decommissioning includes:

  • Small water system treatment plant; and
  • Any unused wells
