Thornbury West Pier Deck Replacement 2021– Public Comments Invited

January 29, 2021 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada must determine whether the proposed Thornbury West Pier Deck Repairs located in Thornbury, ON is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Fisheries and Oceans Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice <https://iaac-aeic.gc.ca/050/evaluations/protection> on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Thornbury Harbour, Thornbury, ON,  is a 250 berth facility located on the south end of Nottawasaga Bay at the mouth of the Beaver River. The harbour is non-core recreational facility under the administration of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Small Craft Harbours Branch (SCH). The west pier of this facility is in need of a deck replacement due to deterioration. This project will include removal and replacement of the concrete deck, railings, and safety ladders.
