January 14, 2021 – Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed Campground and RV Park at Tin Wis is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects
The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
· the project will provide economic opportunities for the community;
· approval of part of the project works by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans
· no comments were received from the public;
· mitigation measures have been developed and will be required throughout the duration of the project.
Mitigation measures have been developed and will be implemented for the project to address:
- General construction operations;
- waste management;
- sediment and erosion control measures;
- wildlife, migratory birds;
- surface and groundwater resources;
- fish and fish habitat;
- air and noise;
- spill protection;
- archaeology;
- soil protection measures;
Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that that the carrying out of the project is not likely to
cause significant adverse environmental effects.
