The Proposed Project

Trans Mountain Pipeline ULC (Trans Mountain) proposes to install an artificial nest platform for Osprey on top of an existing steel pile in Fraser River along Sapperton Bar, Coquitlam, B.C.  The artificial nest platform will be welded to the existing steel pipe pile.

The installation of the artificial nest platform is a requirement of a BC Wildlife Act Permit issued to Trans Mountain for the removal of an Osprey nest erected on a portable crane located on their construction laydown site. The location of the artificial nest platform is deemed to meet the requirements of BC Ministry of Forest Lands Natural Resources Operations and Rural Development and the Wildlife Act Permit. The project also requires a project and environmental review and permit issued by the port authority.
