Notice of Time Limit Extension with Reasons

Ottawa — April 14, 2020 — On April 14, 2020, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (the Agency) extended the 180-day time limit for the planning phase under the Impact Assessment Act for Gazoduq Inc.'s proposed Gazoduq Project.

The Agency has taken this action further to a written request from the province of Quebec that the time limit for the planning phase be extended by up to 90 days to permit cooperation in light of the exceptional circumstances arising from the COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts to communities, businesses and stakeholders.

Accordingly, the planning phase could be extended up to July 18, 2020. However, the Agency will continue to work diligently and the planning phase may be concluded within a shorter timeframe.
