To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed project, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project
Under Project and Environmental Review No. 15-136, the port authority approved deepening of the Port Moody shipping channel to increase the efficiency of Pacific Coast Terminals Co. Ltd. operations. The proposed permit amendment would involve extending Permit 15-136 (which is due to expire on March 1, 2020) to October 1, 2020 to align with the timeframe of their Disposal At Sea permit from Environment and Climate Change Canada. The extension to the permit duration would allow additional dredging work to be undertaken if needed, but does not change the footprint or depth of the dredge area, or any other conditions in Permit 15-136.
