The Project

Transport Canada proposes to construct an additional building at the department's Motor Vehicle Test Centre (MVTC), located in Blainville, Quebec. The MVTC is a fully-enclosed/fenced, controlled access facility located on federal lands. The proposed two-story building will support the preparation and inspection of test vehicles, and will be constructed on currently developed land within the MVTC – specifically an existing flat gravel surface area used to store vehicles after they have been tested. Therefore, it is anticipated that minimal site preparation will be required. Limited modifications to two access roads will be needed to accommodate vehicle access to existing test tracks.  The building will support the department's efforts to continue to enhance passenger safety.
