Frontier Oil Sands Mine Project
Extension of Time Limit for Issuance of Decision Statement

The Governor in Council, under subsection 54(4) of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012, has extended by 8 months (240 days) the time limit for the issuance of the Decision Statement for the proposed Frontier Oil Sands Mine project.

The Minister of the Environment and Climate Change has modified the time limit for the submission of the report by the Joint Review Panel as follows:

• The timeline for the Joint Review Panel to submit its report is 21 months (629 days) from the establishment of the Panel.
• The timeline for the decision statement is 4 months (120 days) from submission of the Joint Review Panel's report.

The timelines do not include the time the proponent, Teck Resources Limited, will take to gather information required for the environmental assessment.
