Orientation Session #2 for the
Roberts Bank Terminal 2 Project Environmental Assessment

OTTAWA, August 25, 2016 – The Review Panel for the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 Project has announced that it has scheduled a second orientation session open to the public to be held September 16, 2016 in Vancouver.

The Review Panel invites the public to attend, or observe via webcast, a second orientation session where information will be provided by the Tsawwassen First Nation and local Municipalities. In addition, Transport Canada, the Canadian Coast Guard and the Pacific Pilotage Authority will make a presentation regarding Canada's Marine Safety System; and the Project Proponent, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, will deliver a presentation on the container terminal industry.  Although participants and the public will not have an opportunity to ask questions during the session, follow-up questions may be sent to the Panel for its consideration.

The Review Panel intends to provide a live webcast of the orientation session and to archive the video recording. A transcript of the proceedings will be posted on the Registry following the session. Additional information on the session and the webcast details will be provided by the Panel at a later date.

The Project

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority proposes the construction and operation of a new three-berth marine container terminal located at Roberts Bank in Delta, British Columbia. The Project would be located next to the existing Deltaport and Westshore Terminals. The environmental assessment includes a consideration of the proposed Project and of marine shipping associated with the Project.
