Frontier Oil Sands Mine Project
Extension of Time Limit for Issuance of Decision Statement

May 24, 2016 – The Minister of the Environment, under subsection 54(3) of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012, has extended by 3 months the time limit for issuance of the Decision Statement for the proposed Frontier Oil Sand Mine project, and as such has modified the time limit for the submission of the report by the Joint Review Panel to the Minister as follows:

• The timeline for the Joint Review Panel to submit its report is 13 months (390 days) from the establishment of the Panel.
• The timeline for the decision statement is 4 months (120 days) from the submission of the Joint Review Panel's Report.

The timelines do not include the time the proponent, Teck Resources Limited, will take to gather information required for the environmental assessment.
